Why do people take offense that I don’t talk to them but don’t care about others acting the same?

People at work take my quietness as rudeness and gossip about me and keep tabs on me but don’t care a bit about other reclusive people. Why? I’m just a working student and most of the regular staff don’t give a flying f about students. They also eavesdrop on my conversations with others etc. And don’t hide that they are watching me.

So the thing is by you being mysterious to them they paint a picture who they want you to be and moment they can't get what want. They act like total bitches.

people are so sensitive and they think just because they do something they think everyone thinks the same way that they do. basically their expectations are up way too high.

as for the gossip, they have nothing to do and want to seem better than others.
