What does it truly mean to be in a relationship?

Being in a relationship, you know, it’s one of those things you think you’ve got all figured out, especially by the time you hit your 40s. But then, life is unexpected, and suddenly, you're reevaluating everything you thought you knew.

For me, being in a relationship used to mean having someone to share the everyday moments with, the good and the bad. It was about having that person who knew your coffee order by heart, who would laugh at your jokes (even the bad ones), and who would be there to hold you when the world felt a little too heavy.

But after this recent breakup, I’ve started to see it differently. It’s not just about the romanticism. It’s about being with someone who encourages you to be your best self, who challenges you in the right ways, and who stands by you, even when you don’t see eye to eye on everything.

I’ve learned that being in a relationship is also about maintaining your sense of self, about not losing who you are in the process of becoming ‘us’. It’s a delicate balance, really, between giving your all to someone while still holding on to the essence of who you are.

And, you know, it’s about honesty, laughter, tears, and sometimes, it’s about letting go when you realize that the paths you’re on just aren’t meant to converge in the way you hoped they would. It’s about finding that connection that’s not just about filling a void.

To start off with... It means some form of commitment. The details of said commitment are to be discussed and understood.
It means loyalty, honestly, love...
To me you enter a relationship because you want to spend time with that person, hopefully a lifetime. But at this point, you are trying out the “happily ever after” with this person. You might not be the right fit... But you are trying. That's what counts.

Oh you don't even know the half of it. That's just regarding my relationships. I was falsely accused by a woman who was just a friend in college and she gave herself the power to have me arrested by having 3 police serve me an ex parte PPO which I had to take to court and all I could do was slap myself with a civil temporary restraining order to remove the PPO I was told I could not and should not sue her. That's when my resentment for women was born. Knowing women like her and all those who cheated on me are constantly being empowered by things like women's history month, international women's day, Valentines day, ext and are recieving zero karma. We men are just supposed to accept it and love women anyway? Hell no, not me. If that means I hate women than so fucking be it

1. I don't want a romantic partner anymore not after all of those experiences. I am also asexual and don't want marriage so a relationship would just be pointless.
2. Yes, you're absolutely right it's not all women. However all women have the option to utilize these political privledges such as for example the ex parte PPO that was extremely unnecessary. Just the fact that women can use this kind of thing is why I hate them.
