My coworker who went back to his country is in touch with me, he sends me his photos of having the time of his life, having crazy adventures half way across the world.

And I love it so much!

To be part of his crazy adventures and to have a look at how his life is different is from our life here.

When i was teenager i was having a lot of friends defense county's. we study together ( private school international).

But i lost contact with them

Now all my friends ( work friends not in my life). From Algeria Tunis Moroccan ( arbic country's) and Spanish Portugal Ukraine and Russian

Yes, i do that a lot more now than I used to. In fact I could have had more opportunities when I was in high school, and I didn't realize how much fun it could be. I grew up on the lower east side of Manhattan and went to a high school that was very close to Chinatown. So, if you look at my yearbook, you will see most of the people there are Chinese and from other similar backgrounds. It was so diversified that it was like going to high school at the United Nations.

In my early 40's I had a boyfriend from England. He was very different in background and the way he spoke, would make me tell him to speak English, please.

About a year ago I communicate with many people from Japan. At the beginning of Covid, I moved from the east coast to the midwest, and I had no friends here other than my own daughters. So to conquer boredom, one of the things I did was watch a Netflix series called Midnight Diner, set in an Izakaya, a diner open from 12:00 midnight to 7:00 am. It is about the owner of that diner and the regular patrons' lives who visit. Set all in Japanese with English subtitles, it became one of my favorite shows. One day I told myself, I must learn Japanese to see if I can understand it. SO I began learning it on an app called Duolingo, then it so happened that on my commnuity a Japanese gentleman gave classes in Japanese. So it's been about 2 years that I have been learning, and now I communicate with 7 Japanese people on a website that has you talk to people from around the world. You choose what language/culture you want to know about, and I chose Japan. I also met a Japanese woman on the site, who happens to live in my own city. She and her husband and their 2 yr old have visited my home and we have shared meals.

It's fun to know about other cultures. It enriches your knowledge of other cultures and the way of other people, which is a great thing.

Thank you. I have always hated my hair, lol. But now that I'm older I don't fight with it so much, and appreciate the curls. When I was younger, the things I did to make it straight! Thanks for the compliment. At times i feel like 80. :D

No, why should I delete? I am not offended at all. I had an Asian boyfriend that I loved to death and I dislike racists.

He had a dog, he cried when he died, he kept his photo on his wall and had tears in his eyes when he first told me of him.

Now if you think of him as a dog-eater even though he is one of the kindest people I’ve met, that’s pretty narrow-minded of you.
