If it’s a goal it’s motivation. If it’s what we posses or receive t can sometimes be motivation but really it’s not.

The difference between it being a goal and it being what we receive or get is that:

a goal is something we construct mentally and organize/align/manipulate all our plans to try and accomplish/ achieve this.

Receiving love just creates a feeling for us. It’s a present and we either like it, hate it, and/or love it.

Feelings don’t always motivate. Not as much as goals crafted from desires.

I think so. With love people hope to find understanding and inclusivity, and those in part calm any worries about aging/ death/ forgotten/ human presence- combative maneuver for isolation which for some can spark loneliness and all.

there are things I do and am motivated to do without the love... it's called the feeling of responsibility. I mostly feel it towards everyone I love... I feel responsible for them in many different ways. But I also feel responsible for my work, the everyday things that should be done, and my obligations towards different public offices. If you think about Maslov's hierarchy of needs, love comes after basic physiological survival, and basic safety (safety of employment, basic food provision, shelter, health, property, financial survival). After this comes "love and belonging)

I would submit most people (especially men) are never able to be secure enough to move past basic safety. Being motivated by love is actually quite a privilege.

I think opposite way around. Love makes you feel secured and loved so it doesn't make you productive or motivated. It actually makes you lazy. Break ups and being hurt bring motivation and productivity.

Love doesn’t make you feel secured. You can’t feel security. You can feel happiness. It makes you happy/ contented. Feeling secure is (I believe) a mindset.

If you feel secured and don’t want to do anything then you’re not living and living excitedly or passionate about life and if you’re not trying to do things for your partner willingly and do nothing and don’t feel compelled then it’s not comfort it’s just you never loved them (not you but in that case/scenario).

When you love them or love life

You want to do things to show them and enjoy/ participate/ act in life.

Act on life.

If we are secured or
In this case self sustained and don’t want to do other things nor give them attention or efforts then it means we only were with them out of need and attachment instead of desire/ PLEASURE/ and… of course love.

Happiness doesn’t make people lazy. People don’t make us lazy. I mean they can inspire the thought, but for the most part our decisions follow upon contemplations/ calculated thinking. Whether instantaneously or more lengthier in time frame/ longer term.

The not doing for self or our other half is merely choice based upon a concluded thought or set of thoughts/thinking/beliefs.

Anyone can be affected by mood. Yeah it hits us.

When I was writing that comment I was mostly thinking the singers who wrote many good songs during a break up and when theyre with someone nothing at all. When I look others, I see that too, when they broke up they became more socialized and more active probably because of they are trying to get out of the break up pain. But from you're perspective, yes, love makes you better. I was focusing on something different, thats all.

No, rather I would say love is greatest strength if it is in right amount balanced not blindly and hate and pain is actually the biggest motivation. People may feel cozy and comfortable around love like being inside blanket during winter but once there is hate or pain you would feel totally uncomfortable to sit at peace unless you would get it done what you want to do.
