No, I mostly operate by the motivation of striving for good deeds.

I'm far from mastery but I've practiced it all my life to the point now where I would be hurt more if I distrusted someone and mistreated them that way to see my trust in another betrayed, because I can blame the other person for the latter case and can only blame myself in the former.

I've spent a lot of my life trying to learn how to endure both physical and psychological pain inflicted upon me by others and I think I'm pretty decent at enduring both now and always seeking to improve even more.

What tends to hurt me most these days is my conscious since I've never worked to desensitize my conscious. I don't want to because I figure it serves a very useful function to help me recognize my mistakes and seek to overcome them.

So this might even sound naïve in a way but if I had the most desirable woman in the world and she cheated on me, I still don't see what I did wrong. I would probably be upset; I'm still human at the end of the day, but I would neither worry about that in advance nor be so devastated if it happened.

It's not something I would fear not because I don't think it could possibly happen, but because I've trained myself to be minimally harmed by the consequences. So I would place maximum trust in my partner with very little to fear.
