In my experience, Partners used to have a Set of Roles which they Mutually Played in each other's life.

Now with Everything commercialized, everything is being monetized in form of Goods or Services!.

It's like there is no need for a Partner anymore, as long as you have plenty of 💸 Money, You can Get it all!

Humans, people, are not meant to be alone. We're meant to be in groups. That's why cities are so densely populated, people need to be with others. Having a partner is an even closer bond. I'm not saying you should get married. GRRM didn't marry his wife for several decades after living together. Plenty of other people do the same. Find someone who doesn't have a drive to get married. You can be partnered, living together without marriage until you are both ready (if ever), even if it takes decades.
