If your significant other wanted to watch a TV series or movie that you had already seen and didn't like, would you still watch it with him/her?

My wife has a lot of time to watch television and movies that I don't. Our rule is that she's not allowed to tell me anything about the show until after we view it together. That's just so I don't have a bias before seeing it too.

Unfortunately that means she's set through multiple hours of a series only to say she never really liked it to begin with.

I’m not much of a tv person , but at times I will watch a movie or show that catches my interest , Most girls’ I have dated were surprised that I handed her the remote lol For me to sit through a show or movie has to really catch my interest or my ass will be passed out 10 minutes into the movie lol if it’s something I really wanted to watch and she watched it already , I will ask her is it worth my time to sit through it , if she says No it wasn’t that good , than I am like ok I believe you and don’t care to watch it anymore , if she says it was good as hell , she more than likely will watch it with me again if not , I will go into another room to watch it

I sometimes watched movies in the cinema with my friends, as my ex didn't like going to the cinema. So it happened we watched something on the TV I already knew. But only once, I didn't like it enough (some war movie) that I refused to watch further and left him alone on the couch. He accepted and respected my feelings.

I have expressed to my partner before that I didn’t like it but I will watch it with them. Most of the time, after a few episodes, we both get bored of it. If he ends up enjoying it, he watches it himself.
I know he hates horror movies but he does put an effort to watch them with me.

I don't especially like horror movies, but most women love them. The same with some sappy romantic movies. But she doesn't love every SciFi or war movie either. Sometimes you make a small sacrifice to make your SO happy. It's not a big deal and makes them happy.

I've sat through rubbish I'd seen previously because she wanted to watch it, she's done the same. But there are occasions when we will sit in a different room watching different things. We aren't 'tied at the hip' if you know what that saying means!

When you tend to have regular girlfriends, it is one of those things that you have both watched the same shit or one of you has watched it. You do that adult thing and talk about it, some movies I love enough to watch them multiple times, others I would sooner slam my knob in a cupboard door. If it’s the latter I will mention it politely and most likely she will watch it and I will read the back of a Gin bottle.

Unfortunately I'm a film nerd 😁 that means overanalysis, talking throughout the film, and criticising pieces of the plot as it goes on... if I don't like it, I'm the worst person to watch a show with.

Not a show I had already seen but we tried to watch Peaky Blinders together and I wasn't really into it. Needless to say I never finished watching the series with him. If I don't like something, I usually just don't watch it. I'll try to watch a couple of episodes but I end up not being focused on it if I find it boring but I try to be a good sport and at least give a couple of episodes a chance.

In my case, I may want to watch a show and it's difficult for her to say it sucks. So we start watching it and I make up my own mind.

On occasion, though, I really get into a series and she'll later say she hated it.
