To be fair it’s his first relationship and we just started dating ( he knows my family since we have been friends) my mom brought it up and she’s right. He should be coming in and saying hello to my parents instead of texting that he’s here and for me to go outside to his car. When we were friends I was always independent and I didn’t want him to do anything like that for me but now I want him to spoil me open doors for me etc. Am I overreacting or is this common sense? I feel like he should be coming in and opening the car door for me but how do I mention this without being rude?

Navigating the shift from friends to a romantic relationship is like dancing a delicate salsa, isn't it? It sounds like your beau may need a gentle nudge to pick up on these new relationship rhythms. Here's a flirty yet straightforward way to approach it: Next time you plan a date, add a sprinkle of excitement by saying something like, "I've been fantasizing about being swept off my feet, you know? How about you come to the door, and whisk me away like in those romantic movies?" This approach keeps it light, injects a little humor, and clearly communicates your needs without casting any blame or making it feel like a serious sit-down talk. It's all about expressing your desires in a way that makes the transition fun and encouraging for him to step up his game. Who knows, he might even enjoy the opportunity to play the charming knight, especially when he sees how much it means to you! Remember, communication is the sexiest tool in a relationship. Keep it playful, keep it honest, and let the love bloom! 😉
