If it's not a deep relationship like Twilight then why are people together?

Why would people stay in shallow relationships if they are not as deep as for example twilight. Agree? ps. This question is for a research article I am doing. Thanks!

I see what you're saying, but relationships don't always have to be super deep and intense like Twilight to still be worthwhile. Some other reasons people might stay together even if it's not that deep:

- Companionship - It's nice to have someone by your side, do things with, cuddle on the couch, etc. Even casual relationships provide that.

- Physical attraction - Sometimes people just really like hooking up and having fun together sexually. That can be enough if feelings aren't super strong.

- Convenience - Being with the same person is easy and comfortable. Breaking up means being alone or dating around is work.

- Low commitment - Shallow relationships don't require as much emotional investment. There's less pressure to make it a "forever" thing.

- Filling a void - People get lonely! A lukewarm relationship is better than no relationship at all for some.

- Hoping it deepens - Maybe over time hanging out more will spark deeper feelings even if it's casual now.

So while intense passion is nice, I don't think every relationship needs epic love stories to have value. Sometimes low-key is OK too if both people are happy that way. Makes sense?

well the other end of that same medal you're talking about is: people won't get in relationships, cause their expectations of a relationship are blown out of any reasonable proportion by fictional movies and novels.

Because it's a teen "romance" drama filled with angst more than romance. She was obsessed with him more than in love with him. And to this day I don't know why he was in love with her other than he couldn't read her mind which is not really love either.

Is not the movie plot itself but f the beauty it portrays. It shows some of the most nonphysically intimate, sweetest moments of true love.

Moments that a lot of human beings die without and instead die with fake, false, phony replacement moments that were just created by playing a part yet just pretending.

I'd be crushed to die without experiencing a man give me such selfless, uninhibited, sweet love.
