The night he was supposed to be flying home from a business trip, I slipped into a tricky little lingerie that I would’ve needed him to get me out of. I set the place up for a nice evening, etc. Unfortunately, his flight was delayed due to a snowstorm… When he finally landed he called to apologize and promised to make it up to me, but I said the best way he could do that was to come over right then to help me with something.
He was confused and tired. He’d just gotten to his place and needed to sleep, after all. So he asked what I needed help with… and I told him.
And though we lived about 20 minutes away from each other he managed to fly over in half that time. When I opened the door and saw him, panting, his hair all disheveled from rushing over, the hints snow on his shoulders, the stunned look in his face at seeing me in their getup, I knew this guy was the one.
We both chuckled a little as I tugged him into the doorway by the front of his jacket. He turned me around and asked me how I’d gotten into that thing and I cracked a joke about needing him or scissors to get out of it.
We ended up calling in sick to have a long, white-hot romantic day together.

I got him a one year anniversary photo of us in a special frame with our names on them and he got me a promise ring with our birthstones and names on them.

Ah, romance, my favorite subject! The most recent swoon-worthy deed was courtesy of my partner, who knows the way to my heart is through the unexpected. We had this cozy beach picnic under the stars, complete with all our favorite snacks and a playlist of our songs. She managed to surprise me, even after all these years together, by sneakily organizing it as a “spontaneous” adventure after a long week. It was just what we needed to reconnect and remember why we fell head over heels in the first place. Lovebombing? Maybe. Effective? Absolutely. 😉 How about you? Any romantic escapades up your sleeve?

My husband is still taking me out on romantic dates despite being together for 10 years.

We went out for a dinner date last week. It was more a twoway thing instead of one of us for the other, I guess.
Let me cry in his shoulder. I’ve been through a lot personally lately and he’s just been there for me
We went on a date last Saturday.
