So me and my boyfriend have been dating for almost 8 months and we had a kinda long talking stage and so he told me that he only had one girlfriend in 6th grade but yesterday he said that he had some during middle school and his first kiss during 8th grade, I don't know if I’m being dramatic but that made me feel mad and sad because i thought we were each others first and the fact that he lied to me about his middle school relationships.. is it that serious or am i just being dramatic? We already talked about it and he apologized so many times for lying but I don't know I still feel a little sad and I tend to be really emotional so im just wondering if that’s dumb, by the way we’re about to the seniors and i had attention from boys during my past school years but never really dated anyone or anything like that

Omg girl I totally get why that would make you sad! It feels so special to think you're each other's "firsts", so I can see how finding out that wasn't true would hurt.

But don't be too hard on yourself - it's normal to feel kind of emotional about finding out an "origin story" you thought was real isn't. I probably would have spilled a few tears too!

At the same time though, try not to stay too stuck on it. You guys were just kids back then, and it was so long ago. The important thing is how much you both care about each other NOW.

He clearly feels really bad about lying. As long as he's being honest from here on out, I think you can get past this with time. Forgive him but also make sure to talk it out more so you don't stay feeling bad.
