Do you think people who fall deeply into being catfished are really just naive or are the ones catfishing really that good?

Just as in real world dating, I feel that a majority of the people being catfished are ignoring MAJOR red flags in these "relationships". Like how can it be a year later and they never want to meet, never send you pictures of things happening currently, can't seem to ever FaceTime or call you, only message when they contact you, only have pictures from 5 years ago, they keep asking you for money...I mean really??? I can understand maybe being fooled by one quick picture and thinking someone is real, and then you discover they're not with a Google search, but when I hear it's 3 years later and they just found out they were being catfished, I have to think one is just kind of naive and ignoring the signs.

Catfishers are really "that good"
The ones being catfished are really naive
