Do you guys like being friends with a girl? Do men actually value spending time with a girl? Or would they become disinterested in the relationship if they find a girl who's better than her? Do men value true friendship? Or would they stop talking if someone better comes along?

Here is my lived experience and a very honest answer out of me.

Women get fucking annoying as a friend, and the willingness to put up with it slips about as fast as my hopes of getting to live out whatever amount of sexual tension she's getting out of me. And because I'm an ever increasingly pessimistic fuck that is growing quicker and quicker to throw my sexual interest in the trash with any hint she's not going to slob my knob... I fortunately don't put up with it as much as my younger, pre-cumming all over myself, and very desperate for pussy self, once did.

I mean let's just be real about things from the start and think about this. She's a woman, and I'm a man. Since I'm not a fem-boy, a Mommies boy, or just a really effeminate male like a liberal snowflake... how much in common do you think we were ever really going to have? Sure there is some cross over once in a great while, but most women seem to enjoy shopping, eating, makeup/dressup, boys, and talking a bunch of shit about people behind their back. Male interest tends to be things, females interests tend to be socially motivated.

Do I value it when I do find a chick that likes guns/hunting/outdoors/guitars or just able to chill and shoot the shit... sure I do. Just doesn't happen too often, and just because we have some things in common... that can be fleeting, like when this one chick and I really needed to pass History 201 because we both failed it once already. Once the objective is met...

And that brings me back to the sexual/attention seeking cycle. Not to mention I'm not always the horn dog. Nothing is worse than a chick suddenly deciding, after I've friend zoned her and professionalized my thinking towards her, that she suddenly is wanting to fuck. We all know how pushy a horny dude can be for sex, but I'll tell you from first hand accounts that women are just as bad. They can be just as likely to want you to cheat on someone or to push for unnecessary risks for instance.

And to top it all off, I don't like how women try to coerce all the time. Women have this bad habit of wanting me to think, feel, or do what they want me to do... instead of just letting me be the asshole I am. And they really put a lot of effort in that category. I mean shit... just tell me what you want instead of making me guess or trying to manipulate me into falling into it.

So I will conclude with this... it's one thing to put up with a bunch of womanish bullshit when I get to rearrange her guts and her head game makes me shoot streams of baby gravy 3x/day... it's another when those desires are not allowed or just not there... because I'm a dude, and I don't want to do woman shit.

Overall I don’t like being friends with women. I don’t like their gossiping. I feel uncomfortable talking about some subjects around them I also feel like she typically “benefits” more from the friendship then I do. There is only one woman I’ve been friends with for many years but she’s more fair independently minded then most women I know. I never felt seriously attracted to her either.

Also I will never be “just friends” with a woman I have real feelings for (and she knows it) when she doesn’t feel the same way about men. No and f*ck no. That doesn’t mean I won’t be friendly around her and say hello occasionally. Nothing wrong with that.

But I am seriously fed up with how many women just have to have “guy friends” tbh. Not to say I am against it. But it’s really because male friends are typically much more valuable to women then vice versa. They get the feeling of being protected, strong male logical advice, somebody to help her move heavy objects, male attention, someone to make the guy she really liked jealous, etc. What exactly can a woman do for the man? Give female advice? Maybe make the girl he really likes jealous. Other then that women have very little to offer men.

I only make friendships and based on what I seen so far from my guy friends, they all love being my friend and they value the friendship so much, I've never seen any of my friends complain or act weird towards me.

I've been friends with my guy friends for years and ever since I was 12, they are all still here being close friends to me as we hang out and chill together all the time. Aside from having younger friends than me, I also have similar ago to me and older guy friends.

All of my guy friends are true friends to me and just like they like being my friend and value the friendship, I also feel the same.

Obviously I'm not into relationships / love / romance.. etc hence i only make friends.

Not to mention there is one guy I met her for more than 1 year, he is so sweet and always tell me how valuable of a friend I'm. He loves being my friend so much and he keeps saying how perfect of a friend I'm ^-^

Unless the guy is either sexist or misogynistic, then I'm under the impression that most dudes are at least chill with having female friends, if not explicitly valuing have some friends in part because they are female. I've pretty much only met people online that have a problem with opposite sex friendships, never met someone who openly carries that attitude in public. (I will say there are definitely people of both gender who tend to be more comfortable and more likely to make friends with people of one gender or another, but I think that's more just personality than anything.)

I personally do. I have one friend that's a girl that I've known since elementary school and another that I've known since high school. They really do bring a feminine perspective to conversation and the way I socialize with them is different, but refreshing. I still prefer chilling with my best friend (a dude) though because girls can't relate to you or see things through your lens as much as a guy. And when they have partners, they can't chill with you as often because of how it might come across with their partners, etc. But it is definitely nice having both friends that are guys and girls.

Sure. I have some amazingly bright, informed female friends. They are as engaging, interesting and entertaining as guys when it comes to conversation. Gender makes no difference.

It is possible for men and women to be friends but some things must be there. Either the woman is completely sexually unattractive to the man or there is an early bond that makes the man see her as family. Eg. if your sister is attractive then you're not attracted to her because there is a genetic switch in your mind that makes her invisible to you and thankfully so. From what I have seen on here with similar post girls don’t want the guy they like to be friends with other girls. It is a jealousy thing. Personally I have friends that are girls and I like their company as a friend. We get together and Bar B Q just like if she was one of the guys. We talk about any subject that comes up. We are friends and to me nothing will change that. For her it may be different I would have to ask her… I imagine that if she started seeing a guy he may not want her and I to hang out.

Whether you believe it or not, I do appreciate friendship with a girl, even if potentially I would sometimes happyly be more intimate. In some cases the friendship is more important than the plain attraction between a guy and a girl. I can set aside the gender of a good friend for different reasons, like already engaged, circumstances of any kind, the girl's personal wishes, etc.

Of course they do. Problem is men and women do not think alike. And somewhere along the line one MAY develop non friendship feelings for the other and while the two may work as friends they may not work beyond that.

I was friends with a woman for 10 years. And then one day seemingly out of the blue her feelings towards me changed. She started coming on to me. I was OK with elevating this friendship but she wanted me to be ONE of her guys. And that's not how I roll. So I had to end everything with her. Because she could not return to the friendship and I refused to be ONE of her guys. But she harassed me for 2 years in it's wake. It was unfortunate this had to happen. Sometimes, but it usually gets cut short when they date new people because the girlfriend doesn't trust you lol. I remember some of their girlfriends liked me and some didn't and when they didn't the friendship was off. A majority of them never really understand what I’m talking about as a male as far as what you go through being a man. They always seem to get offended if you bring up your POV.
