Do men enjoy being friends and socialising with women?

Lots of men say they find women plain boring and only interact with them in order to get sex. Maybe I've simply met low quality men, or maybe what they say is just the truth.

I'm fine with knowing that my male friends are attracted to me and hit on me, many women are easily outraged when a friend hits on them, I'm not, I may even be tempted (if we happen to be single), physical attraction is natural and (in my opinion) it's okay to be attracted to a friend as long as there are no romantic feelings, however, I'd be sad to know that my male friends aren't real friends and wanting somethgn is the sole reason they seem to enjoy socialising with me.

I do wonder if that's the case.

I mean... multiple things can be true at once, right? There's no doubt that any man who says something like that is probably a pretty low quality man who doesn't put much effort into connecting with women. But that doesn't mean he's wrong.

The truth is that a whole lot of women are incredibly boring people. To be totally fair to those women, many of them have simply never been asked to be interesting. I can't blame someone for not doing something they didn't realize they were supposed to do.

I've been on dates with a number of women who have never met a man who actually wanted to know anything about them.

You may not realize, but you men want women to be boring. You don't want a woman who has confidence, charisma, opinions, multiple interests. That kind of woman is challenging.

Sure... most men don't want interesting women in the same way that most women don't want cultured and respectful men.

But your husband isn't most men, so you shouldn't be trying to appeal to most men. Your husband IS going to want you to be interesting because he's the one who has to want to spend the rest of his life with you. Give your husband a chance to fall in love with the real you.

You are not going to have an interesting conversation with a woman. but it might be an entertaining conversation. It is going to sex based.

I don't mean that in terms of sexual techniques but more in terms of relationships, clothing, another woman's body but mostly about the woman herself. I find it annoying if they interrupt a good convo about local politics or geopol or science or engineering. Women always interrupt and redirect conversations.

I do find that annoying and that women are pretty boring. They are only as interesting as they are sexually interesting. I do like the female sense of humor though.

I don't think it we can answer if they are real friends or just hoping to get in. I might have started from a wanting to get in intention but that fades after a while. I think if they have been around for a while the more likely sex is not the reason..

Yes, I have lots of female friends and you know what the women of GAG are wonderful. Now I will admit I’ve dealt with pretty horrible women irl though they do not represent the majority of women because real women have integrity, honesty, and are warm & soft & welcoming individuals. The more friends the merrier whether male or female, all is welcome!

Female friends are great to have, women are very interesting in general and better at talking than most guys, I almost never have long text conversations with guys but I do with female friends, and as a guy you’re not necessarily trying to get with your female friends lol

My best friend is a woman. If we were going to take our friendship in a sexual direction it would have happened a decade ago. I enjoy her company and conversation so much, and when we get together we'll frequently be up talking until 4am. I can't imagine not being friends with a woman at this point.

So long as they're genuine. The problem is guys know that what they get from a MAJORITY of women is just an act. The guy seldom meets the real her. Because most women are just contorting themselves into whatever they think will get any traction with a guy.

It's hard to be friends with someone who never takes off a mask.

There is a difference between being physically attracted to someone and being in love with them. If you're physically attracted to someone, you should be able to keep the attraction under control. You're not in love, you don't want a romantic relationship with them. When you're in love with someone, that's when a friendship is no longer possible, you want another kind of relationship and not being reciprocated hurts in this case.
