Have you ever gotten back with a ex you loved through sex improve and not giving up on them?

Half miss my ex girlfriend we shared 2 kids together dated for 8 years and were almost married. I am doing a lot better mentally but feel like I lost my soul, mate... I gotta chances to date hotter and younger girls, but it's not the same. It's been about a year since I even talked to my ex-girlfriend, and i won't lie. I spent 8 months wasting time depressed instead of working on myself. I have made better friends, started working out every day, and truly worked on myself mentally and physically. The relationship ended because of bad communication, friends getting involved, and mental health issues on both sides.

I also went through a state of depression and stopped being the guy she fell in love with. I won't make excuses. I turned from the best boyfriend world to a ass hole. I kind of wonder if I keep self improving if I can try fixing that relationship one day if I don't give up. I did have one ex come back, but she was super toxic, and I regret trying to get thay person back as a friend. I miss waking up to her kissing me or her yelling to outside my world to let her in. I miss her calling me her home. I do see a therapists everyday but how I feel has not changed. I realize the biggest issue with us was a lack of health boundaries. we went from the healthiest relationship, not one fight in 4 years to the last 2 years being he'll. I think if we set healthy boundaries this time around, things would 100% would out because issues in our 6-7 year of dating kept on being a big issue.

So, I just kind of wanna know if other men or women have won a ex back before.
