The relationship will only work if 1 or both of you have changed from the last time. And it will work best if you both became better people. Getting with an ex is like playing the lottery. Unless you truly know that she is special/worth a lot in areas that have nothing to do with looks & sex, don't even think about going there. I also don't encourage relationships where the ultimate intent isn't to find a high quality spouse or 'wife material'. I will let other guys promote the other stuff.

No. I'll never forgive her. We'll unexpectedly pregnant at which time she ended relationship. That part I'm fine with, her choice who she's with. We spoke in first few weeks of pregnancy, and she came out firing, saying I wouldn't have any custody for 3 years (even said she'd happily take it to court), that visitation would be on her terms. Effectively making it impossible for my family or friends to be involved at all in the first year. It was clear she saw fathers as a secondary parent. I don't agree with that. Both parents have equal value.
In the end she miscarried. Whilst I greived for my child, I have seen friends go through being a part time dad with a mother determined to control the child. It's emotionally draining, and expensive wuth legal fees.
I moved on, now have 2 amazing kids, who I do an equal share of the parenting for with my fiancé.
If I were single and ex got in touch, I'd hook up for a casual shag, but would never get back together
