Why would your significant other need a friend of the opposite sex if you have each other?

There’s no direct one answer to this. I don’t need guy friends directly but my friend group does have male acquaintances and I feel like my partner should understand that just because they have a different private part than me, doesn’t mean I’m going to go off an F them just because they are around my friend group. And I have that same trust with my boyfriend- he has floating female acquaintances and instead of showing insecurity towards it - I totally understand that the opposite gender can’t just be thrown away when we start dating each other. Life doesn’t work that way.

Well I don't see a reason for them having friends that are opposite gender that they hangout with alone, that would be weird in my opinion. (Like that dynamic can work if the friends are both single and don't see each other like that, but I think if you have partners you shouldn't be hanging out alone.) But just having male/female friends that they hangout with in their group, I don't see an issue with that. UNLESS they don't invite you to hangout with their group of friends then it is suspicious lol.
