Me and my boyfriend have been together for almost 1 and half years now and it's long distance relationship. So the plan was for my boyfriend to come live with me and build a life together with him 2 years later. But his dad got sick recently and now he wants to stay with his dad. He said he doesn't want to break up with me because he loves me and doesn't want me with another man and asked if it's possible for me to return back after I graduate so we could get married and take care of his dad together. But, to be honest with you I can't make that sacrifice because my parents spent a lot of money to send me abroad and have a better life and I don't know what to do

You have to do what’s best for you , if that means you break up with him , you break up with him. Long distance relationships are hard , and sometimes you have to bite the bullet and let them go , you don’t have to be enemies with him , try to remain friends with him and maybe suggest an open relationship , since you both can’t be together for a long time , if you are meant to be, you are meant to be. Yes. I am from Sri Lanka, born and raised there. But I came to Canada for my higher studies and I want to build a life here because my parents worked their ass off to send me to Canada so I have to make good use of it. But he wants me to come back to Sri Lanka after I graduate.

That's a lot of pressure cuz you have to make sure you do the right thing for your future Plus yourself... And you can't let down your parents and you probably like the lifestyle that you have in Canada thinking that he would come out and be with you and start life all over again
