Female at heart and mind?

So I was born male I'm 40 but I want to be female. I've felt this way for about 10 years now. I've crossed dressed for as long as I can remember but always in private nobody has ever seen me only pictures and nobody I know. There is someone from my past that I'd love to start a relationship not sure how to locate him I've looked all over Google and nothing. So is 40 to old to start this journey? I'm completely ready to be female 24/7 for him please help?

40 is not too late for this journey of becoming a woman… Although I do want to say that this guy never saw you as a woman and probably went on doing his own life of college, girlfriend, marriage, children, and focusing on his career to help his wife into retirement as the children begin to leave the nest… I don’t think you should pursue them, though you should be happy being your true self. There are lots of people who transition later in life so I think you'll be just fine if you do it. I personally know trans people who started in their early to mid 40s and they look amazing. If it's something you really are considering then find a therapist to talk to about it and work towards getting your hormones. Good luck on your journey!
