I've had a crush on someone for years. We've gone from being acquaintances to friends. There is mutual affection and we both know it. Circumstances however make it impossible for us to be together. She has been in a relationship for a couple of months now and in a way this has 'freed' me. I'm glad she is and have told her so.
I thought the crush would gradually fade away, as she isn't really available anymore, although deep down I know she never really was. We still talk and get together from time to time. I put a high value on our friendship, but the more I get to know her, the more I realize she is very special.
The only possibility to keep seeing her is investing time in our friendship. But seeing her makes the whole process that more difficult. Have you been in a similar situation and what did you do to 'turn the page'?
