How long would you want them to wait?

I told my son, who is my primary person for any medical issue. I want them to try and save me is something bad happens. But if they start talking with words like "miracle", "if we are lucky", "you never know", or it is less them a 50 / 50 shot, then pull that plug.
I live in constant pain due to back and other issues. I don't want to leave my boys, but I am not desperate to stay living. esp if I end up a burden on my boys or other family.
Respectable
I would want them to follow the details in my Health Care Directive (aka Living Will), which basically says there should be no extreme means to keep me alive if, in the opinion of the medical community, there is little to no chance that I would ever be able to lead a normal life.
In short, if I am totally incapacitated, let Nature take its course, whatever that may be.

Oh man, we went to pull the plug on my sister and when we got to the hospital she was wide awake and ate something.
I believe that the ONLY time a family should pull the plug is if there is absolutely no brain activity at all and I would want to see proof of it!
When my 18 year old son was in the hospital with bacterial meningitis, septicemia (blood poisoning) and was very sick, and on life support, this lady came to the hallway and asked to speak to me. It was the middle of the night and no one was around at all. She had a clipboard with a form on it. The form was a consent from she wanted me to sign to take him off life support.
I asked her if she was crazy?
I told her that machine is helping him out because he's having trouble breathing and they better leave it on him!!
I was right, a few days later he was breathing on his own. He wasn't even brain dead and they wanted to take him off life support.
Be an advocate for your family members that are in the hospital and DO NOT let them intimidate you or push you around.
My son is 46 now and still alive!! If I had listened to that lady in the hallway that dark night and signed the consent from I would have been killing my own son.
ADVOCATE!! ADVOCATE!!! FOR YOUR LOVED ONE'S LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!!
Just done medical powers of attorney's as a friend had a sudden medical issue and deteriorated rapidly necessitating incubating in ICU. No medical power of attorney delayed treatment for 24 hours.
Once she recovered we decided to exchange medical POA's so delay will never happen again.
i would want the plug pulled because not being able to think would be the worse fate for me.
She would want to have have her favorite music played continuously and thinks she will be happy with that.
I will respect her wishes other than in the number of visits she seems to expect.
Fate does work because I wouldn’t be here if my parents had stop support for me. Was in a coma for one and half month dead tree times. The doctor told my family my I had about a 5 percent chance of living for the first month, had a serious TBI (head injury). So yes was happy for what they did but it took over a year to understand what they did.
I wouldn't know so i wouldn't care. But if i can hear them debating (since some people in comas can hear you), i’d be pissed if they unplugged me
So you'd want them to support and have faith in you
For as long as their funds allow
Tough one...
"It's possible for someone to wake up from a coma years after falling unconscious. Some cases include:
Munira Abdulla
In 1991, Abdulla was in a car accident and fell into a coma, only to wake up 27 years later.
Annie Shapiro
In 1992, Shapiro, a Canadian apron shop owner, woke up after being in a coma for 29 years due to a massive stroke. Her story inspired the 1998 movie Forever Love.
Jennifer Flewellen
Flewellen was in a coma for five years after a car accident. According to Dr. Ralph Wang, a physiatrist who treated Flewellen, only 2–3% of patients who are in a persistent vegetative state for many years may eventually wake up."
Anything after a few years ahold be an unplug. I guess it depends on the financial situation.
It would be hard on everyone because they'd all know I'd be running around my dreams like a total psycho trying to figure out how to wake up ASAP 😂
The only time they should pull the plug is if there is absolutely no brain activity and/or if major organs start failing and there is no turning back.
It depends on the situation. If they have money for it/need me still emotionally even though I'm unconscious, keep me alive. Otherwise I'm happy to die in peace.
Wait 3 months. If nothing, I’m ready to go.
There was a chance I wouldn't wake up from a coma that I was in for a week. The thing was that it was partially medically induced, so until thry were sure the medication had no effect, thry couldn't declare me a vegetable. I say that once I won't wake, kill me.
I want both choices. To pull the plug and have faith. Never lose faith but don’t drag out Gods decision. They can keep a dead body alive forever on enough machines. Don’t let doctors play God… have faith and let God decide your fate.
Give me 3 months. If I'm not up by then pull the plug.
That depends on if I was braindead or not. Braindead, pull the plug. Not braindead, keep me alive. People can wake up from comas even after many years.
I have a health proxy and DNR. That's not gonna be me!
Depends, what are my odds of coming out of it?
DNR after a reasonable amount of time.
pull the plug.
Give me MASSIVE doses of vitamin C!!
Pull the plug.. that's not living
