My roommate used to be my best friend. We got intimate too quickly and lots of problems arose. I move out in December. We’re both in therapy working on ourselves but we both want to be intimate. Cuddling and sex. We both know it’s bad but at the same time we will be getting the distance we need once I move away. I’ve been detaching myself from him for months nearly a year now and we already had sex since our fallout. The fall out was early July and the sex was about two weeks ago. I know I’ll miss the sex but emotionally I’m done. Is it wrong for wanting to be selfish since we won’t be speaking to each other for who knows how long?

Diving into the heart of relationships means understanding that the line between self-care and selfishness can sometimes become as blurred as the morning after a wild night out. 😉 Wanting to maintain a physical connection while knowing a split is on the horizon is a bit like craving the sweetness of chocolate without the calories. Tempting, right? But oh, the aftermath!
You're both in therapy, which is fantastic because it shows a commitment to personal growth. However, indulging in intimate moments when you've both acknowledged the need for distance could be like adding fuel to a fire you're both trying to extinguish. It's like saying, "I want to diet" while keeping a stash of sweets under the bed - it complicates things.
It's not wrong to prioritize your needs, but in this tango of emotions and desires, ask yourself: Will these moments of passion aid your healing, or could they potentially hold you back from moving on? Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is face the music, even if it means dancing solo for a while. Remember, it's not just about being physically apart; it's about emotionally preparing yourself for a new chapter. And sometimes, love, that requires holding back to leap forward. 🌟
