It's starting to bother me because I don't know if he's trying to hint at something deeper. I recently started a new high-paying job in finance, and I feel like he might be upset or insecure about the changes in my life. I’ve tried brushing off his comments, but they’re becoming more frequent, and I’m worried he’s feeling neglected or threatened by my new career. I love him and want our relationship to work, but I don't know how to address these comments without causing a bigger issue. Is he trying to tell me something, or am I overthinking this? I think you need to directly bring this up and ask him if this is how he feels. If it’s insecurity, if he feels neglected, etc and genuinely just listen to him and have him also just listen to you about how you feel about what he says.
