On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is having a similar taste of music to you in a relationship?

We don’t need to have exact music taste but I wouldn’t be with someone who is close minded and refuses to listen to something different or new.
I have a friend where every time I play a song they go “what are we listening to? This is so bad. What is this? Blah blah.”

And half the time what I’m playing isn’t even that crazy or weird.
the other day I was playing 360 by Charliexcx which is literally the most popular song from the biggest album released this year and they were saying that shit.

then they go on to put on the shittiest NPC music I’ve ever heard. It’s draining lol

My wife and I have different tastes. I am a rocker. She used to go to clubs and dance to disco music when she was young. I hated disco music and she doesn't like rock. She thinks it is loud and thinks lead guitar is just noise.
I'm a lead guitarist. 🤣🤣🤣

But there is a lot of music that we both already had in common.
Plus, over the years, I have come to appreciate much of the music that I used to hate, and she has come to sort of appreciate some of the music that I love.
I have even taken her to rock concerts.

Before my last boyfriend I would have said not very important. But it actually is. Maybe 8 out of 10. It doesn't matter of you have some different tastes. But you gotta share a lot of the same taste. My boyfriend and I... we would try take turns but when his tunes were on that I disliked (druggie music I call it) it would kill my buzz! So that sucked.

We found some common ground with oldies 80's music. That was a fun and funny night.
