I like rock/pop/club music. My new boyfriend is more RnB and Reggae. There is some cross over of what we both like. But he says my mood drops when his music is on. I have no issue him playing his music but I get tired rather than hyped up cos it's not music I can sing to and enjoy like if it's my music. And now I feel too aware that he might be also feeling same about when my tunes are on. So i don't feel I can play mine as much as I like either. It puts a dampner on our nights sometimes, I think.
It's a "nice to have" but in my opinion shouldn't be the end of the world. Relationships ALWAYS come with sacrifices - for BOTH people - if you want them to last.

Not too important for me since I tend to like a wide range of music anyway.
sharing music is fun, so if we like different styles we can learn and start to like something new... but important is to not force your partner to listen your music. I mostly work in headphones, but learned to keep one ear open sometimes to make me available for casual conversation :D
I think it's somewhat important. My boyfriend and I like some of the same music but there is a lot of music we don't mesh well with. I like 80s classic rock for example where he likes modern rock.
it was never an issue for me at all...
they had their own likes and I had mine... but there were many that were mutual as wellIt's a nice-to-have but definitely not a deal breaker. Unless they constantly locked what I listen to then they can go.
remain centred who gives a fuck if someone doesn't like it or their mood drops. You do you
Barely matters. It is a minor bonus if they both like the same music.
Not really important. As long as it doesn't bother you; you get exposed to new music.
Not very important.
