How would you react if you found out that your partner had seen a counsellor because they felt a recurring urge to cheat on you?

Oh dear... that would hurt. I mean. It's unusual for a guy to seek counselling anyways. So I guess have to give him kudos for that. And it sounds like he might acknowledge a problem that is not related to being unattracted or unhappy with me personally. Even though it would make me feel that way which would likely kill the relationship. It could be that he is an avoidant attachment type and self aware of his tendency to mess up something good. So likes you enough to want to not do that. I would hope we could communicate about it. Go counselling together. Or separate but same councellor to help guide us. Because in a case like that I'd still wanna do my part to help. Relationships take two to work after all!

In a sense…. Been there, done that. Maybe I’ll go through the story another time but to answer your question…. I reacted with love and understanding…. Because if you want to make things right you have to be the bigger person. Show them that the other person can’t hold a candle to you… the world is one giant competition. We compete for everything… including love.
Trust me it was eating me up inside but to be angry, and scream about it would only push your partner away.
