My ex from 2 years ago made a comeback into my life.

Being with him was very challenging because he has a lot of emotional and mental problems.

Unfortunately he's come back into my life now but he hasn’t changed. In fact he’s worse.

We’re not together but when we broke up I knew I’d always love him.

I know he still loves me too.

At this rate we will never be together because it’s physically and mentally impossible.

Loving someone like that is very hard.

You made the same mistake I did by allowing a mentally ill ex back into my life after I separated from her , thinking things might be ok between us , but sadly I was wrong. Do yourself a favor and get rid of him and realize you deserve better than that shit , just because you feel like you care about someone and you feel like you still love someone , it doesn’t mean you have to stay with that person , sadly their mental illness is something you do not have to tolerate if it’s bringing constant misery into your life. You deserve happiness not misery , My ex has severe mental illness , severe anxiety and depression and sadly the girl is never happy , she is more negative than anything , and when someone is that negative? All they will do is bring you down to their level. Do yourself a favor and end it with him and find yourself a guy that doesn’t need medication to make him normal and to treat you the same way you treat them. Life is too short for that nonsense.

They usually don’t cuz they have no clue they are , mental illness is sadly a disease that can only be treated by medication and anti depressants and sadly those medications only last so long before they snap again and have to get their meds adjusted , if the meds actually work for them. I know you think you can stand by them and love them and be there for them , but sadly it will be a matter of time before you start losing your mind , My ex was like being in a relationship with Dr Jekyll Mr Hyde , always having a. You are a human being that deserves to be loved the same way you love someone , You didn’t make him have mental illness , that was something that happened to him probably from childhood trauma or some shit , it’s not your job to fix someone , you aren’t a doctor or a psychologist, you are a girl that wants to give the same way you want to receive. I treat a girl he same way I want to be treated in return , My exes mental illness was sadly something I thought I could handle but I realized I couldn’t , it was tearing me apart mentally as well. Her mental illness got worse than better through the years , to the point I had no other choice but to walk away unless I wanted to stay and be a constant punching bag , because that’s all I became to her , once in awhile she would throw me a bone and I would think things might be alright between us , but sadly I was fooling myself. Yes, I have. Maybe a couple of them.

She started having breakdowns when she was 17. Apparently, she'd been sexually abused by her dad or one of her older brothers and somehow, that triggered them. By the time I'd met her, she was 21 and had just gotten over her 2nd one. 2 years later, she had another, mostly because she hadn't been taking her meds for the previous 6 weeks.
Since then, she's had at least 7 more. I haven't talked to her in at least 5 years so, if she's had any more since then, it's news to me. She just turned 64 a few days ago.

Never romantically loved someone like that but I have befriended folks with BPD. The first one would threaten suicide/murder every other week because of how intense their rage or depression was, and I was forced into being their lifeline. After I set boundaries and told them that I needed space, they stopped talking to me completely. The second one wasn’t too different, he wasn’t that extreme but he was very impulsive with little control and when I wouldn’t consistently support his delusions, he cut me off and stopped talking to me. Healthy minds can’t do well around those that were made and thrive in chaos, we’re too boring to them.

Girl run!!! He will ruin your life. In the end, you’re the one who is gonna get mentally ill if you continue to engage with him. I made the same mistake in the past and it’s not worth it. It’s better that he works on himself and then you will see if you want to continue the relationship.

I did for 3 years and I absolutely agree with you that loving someone with multiple and severe mental health issues is extremely hard especially when you yourself don't have mental health issues and it becomes really difficult because you're suffering all the time.
