Not at ALL. Truly the silliest and useless of emotions. Do I "own" my kids or wife or others property? NO! Why would anyone point to another human and say "Mine!"? Its insanity. If someone else wants to say "mine" about my wife well than thats a choice for her isn't it?

USA Americans are so prude and possessive as if monogamy is natural (spoiler alert - it's not!) and seem to look at infidelity as an unforgivable sin AND a crime worthy of public shame, chastisement and punishment when it's really no one's business except the three involved. The French view of a regrettable lapse and moreso that you were CAUGHT, not the infidelity itself is the main problem and you should have been more discreet! There's a reason "The Scarlett Letter" was written in and considered a classic in America!

    Highly readable and suggested:

Jealousy has a purpose. It helps you be keenly aware of whether someone is hitting on your partner, or whether your partner is spending too much time with someone else and not you. That being said, I feel it is often misused inappropriately. You need to be able to trust your partner and if you're constantly feeling on guard every time they have to talk to someone you will feel resentment and generate an argument out of nowhere.

So, you need to be able to differentiate between "oh they're just being polite or nice or they're just friends" and "I feel like they're flirting and I don't like it."

It's okay to want to be protective or keep an eye on your partner but like everything there's a limit somewhere. You need to be able to take a step back and ask yourself if you're overreacting or if you're being cheated on or disrespected in some way. On top of that I feel like cheaters and partner-stealers aren't as common as everyone thinks. Like, yeah, there's enough stories of them but it's a judgement based thing. People are allowed to talk to the opposite gender it's really hard to navigate life without being able to do so.

As with all things, communication would be appropriate with your partner. Let them know you don't want to lose them to someone else, or 'I felt threatened by that waitress earlier please tell me I'm just being ridiculous,' etc. Jealousy is often misused and is a signifier of insecurity in the relationship and a potential lack of trust in your partner to be able to shoot down others' advances. After all, it's really humiliating to be accused of cheating when you literally had no intention to do so, so communication shall be stressed here again.

  • Oh, jealousy, the green-eyed monster that can sneak into even the strongest of relationships! Let me tell you, a little bit of jealousy isn't necessarily a bad thing; it can be a sign of deep feelings and care. However, when it starts to cross the line, transforming from cute to controlling, it becomes a problem. Being overly jealous can strain a relationship, trigger insecurities, and create a lack of trust. And trust me, love needs trust like a beach needs the ocean. A sprinkle of jealousy? Maybe spicy and sweet. But drowning in it? That's where the trouble starts. Let's keep it balanced and trust our partners, keeping the vibes loving and the atmosphere trust-filled!

I'm not the jealous type there's no reason for it if you cannot trust the person that you're with you should not be with them that's that simple

I mean ask yourself do you want to be walking around with the person that you're with and people are looking at them and you're angry getting jealous for no reason that starts a conflict

Or would you rather be walking around and people looking at them and you're just smiling and thinking yeah guess who he's with she is beautiful huh or vice versa

I always feel it with things I want all to myself. But I don't act on the jealousy in toxic ways.

I did that but apparently my girlfriend saw something what wrong. So I told her, i dont know if its good or bad. It feels good that I expressed how i feel but she knows I am insecure now.

@michalpl00 - Everyone is insecure about something unless they're a psychopath or aren't functioning normally in other ways. And I heard that girls like when their guy shows jealousy. Not because they like having specifically an insecure guy. It's because many like a possessive guy. Being jealous shows that you care deeply, don't wanna share them with other guys, are willing to invest a lot into them, etc.

    There’s 2 kinds of jealousy:
The bad kind: where you’re insecure about your own inadequacy and think your partner is trading up

The good kind: when you don’t care about reasoning or logic but don’t want to share what you hold dearest to you

I'm not jealous at all. And it's a bad thing because it's just a pain in the ass for everyone else to deal with. It's super aggressive, controlling, generally combative and unpelasant.

At a certain point, if you can't handle dating the person you're dating in a calm and rational manner; fuck off. You simply shouldn't be dating that person.

Yes, but I'm sweet jealous', in other words, if she makes me jealous, it only makes me that much sweeter and more generous to her.

Absolutely. I'm jealous to the point I'd break up with a woman for smiling at another man.

Somewhat. Jealousy isn't the best thing, especially when you look at what other people have. It is often talked about in relationships, but is it really jealousy when your partner is disloyal?

Petty jealously such as a man dare not talk to my woman or nor look at her, no.

A man trying to cross the line of being disrespectful, touchy and flirty with my woman, then yes.
