To be honest I don't think there should be a maximum age difference, legality set aside of course. Things often just happen, and if that age difference is important, the only aspect to be considered is how long that involved relation will last, but whatever age partners have, it's up to them to decide and manage. There is always something to learn from any relationship.

My wife was 12 years older, and we met when I was 25. The difficult period started a few years before her death, but our relation was stable during the 38 years of marriage. No regrets, in spite of the 2 last years of her life. In any case, in every relation, there will be such difficult moments when one of the two partners will pass away.

Age is not always the best indicator of maturity.

Theoretically it should be. As you get older your brain (usually) changes to make more mature decisions. Your peers and circle of friends change as well. If you are man they really shrink after 30 (different topic). Also life experience usually knocks sense into people. But some people never learn no matter how many hard lessons they’ve had.

Anyway I’ve been shocked in both directions on this. I had a grown ass woman in her late 30s disrespect me in front of my family years ago. I won’t go into detail but it was absolutely insane.

What she said was so ridiculous and insulting that I long questioned myself that I was somehow misreading the incident. But I didn’t. Insanely selfish and immature.

Then more recently I had a young woman in her early 20s demonstrate honesty and respect I haven’t seen in years. Even decades. I won’t go into details but I was absolutely shocked given the circumstances. Absolutely couldn’t believe how well she handled our final conversation. We ended things very amicably.

Depends on how old you are.

65 and 50 is fine, but 30 and 15 is NOT.

30 and 40 is fine, if slightly weird, but 20 and 30 is a little suspicious (and 20 and 10 is "I'll kill you")

18 and anything above 23/24 just seems wrong.

Depends on your age, maturity level, where you are in life, etc. There's no black and white answer. The older you get, the less the age gap really matters. It only really matters when you're in your late teens and early 20s, because of where they are in life.

As adults, people are allowed to to engage in relationship as they see fit, whether it is play, the playing out of karma, love, infatuation, sex.

If people believe in individual autonomy and freedom, then they must honour that.

Really it's more about the invididual capability and capacity of the person, their level of emotional and moral maturity. This may be reflected in age, but really, not really. I wouldn't date most 30 year olds or older because they're not on the same level. Nor are younger women. So it is completely individual. Based on that person's ability to be in relationship at higher levels of awareness.

If you are a teen, no more then 2 years. If you are in your 30's +, it could be up to 10 years. Depends on the person, depends on the age,.

You are showing 21. You really shouldn't be with someone less then 18. There can be a big difference in a person, esp a guy, between 18 and 21.

I was 20 when i got engaged to my ex wife. She was 17. We were together 25 years. It worked out. yes she wanted a divorce, but 25 years ia a long time.

However, I know a couple that have been together, for the most part, since they were in the 5th grade. They broke up a few times over the middle school/high school years, but never for all that long. So you never know.

10 years, and even that's pushing it if you actually want the relationship to be successful and lasting. That is, if like me you want someone to be with for the rest of your life and not change partner every couple of years. Less than 5 years is ideal though. Oh, and if the difference is bigger then the younger person must be at least 22/23 years old. 18 year olds are not adults.

Well for me , I'm always 20 - 35 years older , its been this way for a long time..

From about age 45 ( 20 years ) , and now I'm 63 , last long term was 41 years old , then after her 29 years.

No one should be judging what is " acceptable " , outside of legalities. I get on far better with younger girls , idealily 35 years old would be perfect , and could be +10 years on that.

Enough difference to be their parent's age is okay only if the older person doesn't have their own kids within 20 years of their partner's age, but old enough to be their grandparents age is too far. Plus it should only happen if they actually have compatible morals, compatible long term life goals, and some things in common they enjoy doing together besides just intimacy related activities. I disagree with casual sex/friends with benefits/ons regardless of ages.

Until last year the biggest difference that I've had any kind dating relationship was 11 years and it was the best relationship I've ever had. The connection and intimacy was amazing and I haven't found that level of it ever again. Unfortunately she had her own problems and is still stuck there.
Last year I had a brief couple of weeks long sexual relationship with a woman who was 17 years younger than me. I didn't find any problems, in fact I loved that she wanted to impress me more in bed than I did and everything I did was amazing. Also I like that whatever I came up with was fine because apparently I was the wiser one. But like I said it was a mostly sexual relationship and I doubt it would have gone far, even though I don't exclude the possibility of sleeping with her again.

It depends on your age. Don't go below 18 if you are 18+ once you exceed a certian age I would give a 10 year age gap as the maximum. For me, I wouldn't date anyone who is under 23 or will turn 23 before the end of this year. I also won't date someone who is 44 or will be before the end of this year.
