Common example is martial law and mandatory military service. He is at risk being called up to arms and fighting the invaders. He is at risk in his everything, his health and his very life.

On the flip side there's also the "no, what for and why?" factor such as peaceful Russians being at risk to be sent to the meatgrinder in Ukraine. The young men in this situation are at fatal risk for literal senseless bloodshed because a certain 71 year old geezer said so.

Sorry to say but YOU are the one that makes it a political question and obviously, you should have placed it under the appropriate topic and not under this one since YOU are making reference to politics.

I would not follow a hypothetical partner/boyfriend or husband because I would have failed to check him out thoroughly before dating him.

The only reason he would have to flee is because he is in some kind of trouble with the law because of his doing or because he acted in a criminal way or because he mingled with the wrong persons.

Any normal citizen does not need to flee to protect his life and then there would be no necessity to follow him to escape thugs or the government.
