If one shelves their values or beliefs to be “loyal”, are they truly “loyal”? Are they really trustworthy? Loyalty is of importance to me; but being consistent and integral with one self however, is

I am loyal to the point of hurting my own interests and goals. I am learning that loyalty does not mean the erasure of personal freedom or ethics, just the installment of a few perimeters that are mutually agreed upon.
Am I faithful? Yes. Will I steal for someone I love? No.

Not only loyal, but devoted. I'm happy to say it's been returned most of the time... I'm too sensitive to deal with people who don't appreciate it so I break things off or distance myself (friendships and relationships) when I discover we're not on the same page.

  I caution you to not mix words. One can be loyal without being faithful, and vice-versa. IMHO, trust and open communication are key aspects of a relationship. Explicit agreement of what is and what is not acceptable behaviour is crucial, and then sticking to that agreement; no matter what.

I can commit but I wouldn’t say I’m loyal. When i think of being loyal, i think of it as “never leaving no matter what”. But i’ll absolutely leave if i feel the relationship no longer benefits me emotionally

  So i can be committed, faithful and even dedicated. But asking me to be loyal seems like the person is asking for a bit much. Im not like a dog who’s willing to die trying to save you. I’d only be that type of loyal for my future offspring
