I used to give Loyalty out for free, then I realized it has to be earned.

I've always been different and I was never taught how to nor encouraged to put myself first and to respect the opinions of people older than me despite knowing in my heart of hearts who was worthy of that respect and who wasn't.

Loyalty isn't free, don't feel betrayed by me just because you took my presence for granted.

In other words, I can be loyal. But I can hurt you with 0 remorse.

But loyalty is on another level, so I would not call myself loyal (especially the undying loyalty type) because some of everything (job, relationship, family, friends, etc) can become disposable/replaceable or simply get cut off. I’m definitely not loyal to any job/career/position. Its a means to an end. I try to maintain loyalty to the Lord, and the Lord only. And I’d likely only have unconditional love for my future kids. I'm the sort of loyal that not only spends, fights and defends for those I deem worth the loyalty, but doesn't require it back.

The sort of friend who paid to fly back three friends stranded in a foreign airport when they lost their shit. Yet still drove to the airport to pick them up.

Granted I fucking laughed at the three of them all the drive back home. But that's just me. They know I am an utter bastard at times, and always jibe and poke at bad times and events. But I help people up, not just go all American, and kick them when they're down, while claiming the higher moral ground.

As for me, I try to be loyal to God first and foremost since He is the Most High and I have to respect that.

I'm loyal to my family but not everyone in my family.

As for a boss or company I show 0% loyalty.

I will leave them high and dry at any moment.

Done it before multiple times and will do it again.

The thing I’m most loyal to is my personal philosophy and everything else comes after.
My loyalty is earned through proving yourself worthy of it. My loyalty is dissolved through stomping on my philosophy.
