Also, feeling “restrained” by someone in a romantic relationship does not necessarily mean you’re aromantic. If you’ve never had a crush on anyone, I would consider that aromanticism (speaking as an aro/ace myself) but not necessarily being withheld by a person. That could just as easily apply to polyamory.

i am 100 percent asexual but i figured i am also aromantic, i never understood the whole "boyfriend" thing, like i have no need for that. i can enter a "relationship" but it would be more of societal norms/expectations
