It's just about the most painful thing you can experience, emotionally.

It's such a powerful feeling that you can literally feel physical symptoms, like you got punched in the gut. You want to cry, scream, curse, and die, but it's such a shock that you can't do any of those things. You're just in a daze.

I'd say it's like you're numb, except you're not. You feel it, and it keeps assaulting your brain over and over again, non-stop. You don't know how to go on, how to keep functioning, and you don't really feel the point of trying, either.

You just kind of shut down, except you can't make the pain stop, even by doing so. You just suffer through it, because there's nothing else you can do.

I would literally rather get hit by a car, than go through that again. The physical pain would be infinitely preferable to the emotional pain.

I felt like a kid who got slapped and had no idea why.

I felt so hurt, confused, and like trash. Almost like it was still my fault somehow but I just didn't understand what I had done.

Being betrayed, when I did nothing wrong and did everything to satisfy her in every way a man could, just made me feel so worthless and like I would never and could never be valued or loved. Honestly, a part of me still feels that way.

I'll be fine though. Just gotta hold my head high and accept the pain/sorrow until it fades away somehow.
