After watching this enlightening video, I believe that some of these apply to women as well.
While I was watching this I found my head nodding my head in the yes motion because I had done most of these things with my late boyfriend.
But when I was younger, I wasn't aware of these things and I wish I had seen this video when I was a teenager - maybe my life would have turned out differently 🤷🏼‍♀️

Haven't seen the video yet. But even if you knew, it's possible you were too inexperienced to put it into prattice or to understand it fully. One of the biggest mistakes was letting the girl I loved most slip away, as sand slipping away between your fingers.

The reason I said I wish I had seen this when I was a teenager is because I didn't have a masculine figure in my life growing up.
But if I had watched this video I would have been enlightened more about men and learned more about how they differ than women because I was only around women growing up.
But I know that once I learned more about men, I would have remembered what this video said and applied it in my relationships.
I was only 20 when I got married. My husband had a lot of passions and interests and I should have been more engaged with his life and been more supportive as well.
He had just turned 19 when we got married. But even though he was young, he was a fantastic cook, an excellent artist and painted geometric paintings, and was a spot on lead guitarist in a rock band.
Plus he was very handsome!!
I couldn't believe that he picked me to be his wife.

Everyone likes to feel special, loved, motivated and appreciated. A no brainer.

The point about keeping your independence is a valid one. No relationship should be that absorbing that you're left with no time for yourself. Sure, you want to spend as much time as possible with your partner in the beginning stages, but tou should allow some time to engage in other activities or just be comfortable by being by yourself.

I'm not sure about building a friendship before any emotional connection. But it is true that a long lasting relationship can lead to that. Your partner is a partner, lover, friend and support all at the same time. So I'd rather say that friendship within the relationship is the natural outcome, an added bonus. Not the starting point.

True about friends and family. They're important in your life, so they should also be important for your partner. That's often a critical point in any relationship, where it either breaks off or continues.

Yes, that's how the old saying goes! That used to be true but times have changed.
My husband was only 19 when we got married and he was a fantastic cook, so I had to find other ways to win him over.
Also men are becoming chefs more and more - so now there's competition.
