My boyfriend gave me chlamydia, did he for sure cheat on me?

I went to the ER with pelvic pain and found out that my discomfort was caused from Chlamydia. I have only ever been with my boyfriend, so I know it came from him. I have Guillain Barre and have a low immune system as it is. I am susceptible to getting infections easily. My boyfriend is adamant that he hasn’t cheated on me. My question is could my boyfriend’s Chlamydia have been dormant from his last relationship and showed up in me because of my low immune system? How long have you been with him? It’s possible he cheated on you or he got it before he met you , so the more sexual partners’ someone has the higher risk of them having bacterial infections and STD’s

It can lay dormant for 10 years.. but how long have you guys been dating? If you have had unprotected sex before and nothing happened I would assume he cheated.. The only thing is if you guys weren't tested while dating.. then you will never really know. Like when was the last time you got tested?

Thank you so much for your help. I had a conversation with him and he is adamant that he hasn’t cheated on me. He said he didn’t even know that he had it and hasn’t had any symptoms. I am inclined to believe him based on his reaction, but I am hoping that I am right on this.

There are a few possibilities here and it isn’t certain that he gave you chlamydia. It’s possible you have had it for months or years and have simply been asymptomatic all that time.

The same is possible for him.

Then again it is also possible he cheated on you. You can’t really know for sure.
