My boyfriend thinks I’m embarrassed of him?

Okay so me (F18) and my boyfriend (M19) are definitely still in the early stages of the relationship, but have known each others since kids. We were having a conversation talking about how we are feeling atm, and he randomly brought up that he thinks I am embarrassed of him. I quickly said I wasn’t but also asked why he thought that. He said it was because I don’t give public affection towards him. From my pov this is my first relationship still a little new to everything that comes with it. It’s not like I don’t show any affection towards him in public I hold his hand and hug him. I don't know I think he’s more thinking of kissing and me being all over him. I definitely don’t want him to think this cause if anything I am punching in this relationship. What can I do to stop him from thinking this?

Conceivably you might not like to be very overt in public affection; some girls don't. If you are one of those than explain that to him. If it does not bother you, than why not it kiss in public.

From either gender, we do like it to be recognizable that it is a couple relationship. Couples tend to stand close together, have an arm around each other. There are lot of small things that make us think that that guy and girl are together.

You could directly ask him what public affection he would like you to show and in what way aren't you.
