Speaking as an autistic person, this is not something that happens. Speaking as an aromantic person, there was a time where I had a different “crush” every 2 weeks because I recognized the people in my class as conventionally attractive and thought that’s how crushing on someone works. It is not, in fact, how crushes work. The best way to determine if your feelings are romantic/sexual in nature or not is to just imagine that person breathing heavily in your ear. Usually if it disgusts you, it’s not a crush.

can't tell if you are posing a question or an opinion. I would not call the type of attachments most severely autism affected individuals "romantic". They are usually fear based and the attachment is security not romance. That's not to say they are incapable of romantic love by any means. I just believe the majority of attachments are based on security. If you've never seen the film Rain Man with s bravura performance by Dustin Hoffman and a surprisingly competent performance for Tom Cruise, it is bith a great film- very funny- and a real insight into a pretty autistic character
