Like the other day my car was overheating and I had to pull over and have it towed and when the tow truck was pulling it away it felt as the equivalent of an ambulance taking a sick individual away

It’s completely normal for autistic people to have attachments. They can even be little things like a book, a drink bottle or much larger like cars, computers etc. My brother has autism and his is his PlayStation because it’s the thing that brings him the most comfort and escape. For people with autism if something that’s been a constant in their lives is taken away it can have a huge impact on them as change can cause stress and an imbalance in their usual routines.
That’s pretty normal reaction honestly. Cars are an investment and also a convenience, so seeing your car not in good shape being a discomfort to everyone.
