My boyfriend was never into distance relationship. Personal touch, regular meetings etc matters more for him. But it happens that he found a deep sense of connection with me and we happened to start a distance relationship.
It's been 3 years now. Our bond is strong and we know we both are going to get married. But now in both of our lives there are some struggle for that we cannot be together for now so we need to keep the distance for more now.
But after 2 years the distance is frustrating. We both wanna end it, we both feel it's stretching too long and we both want physical presence but because of situation we need to continue.
So if bond is strong it can be as long as it is necessary. Or else who want to have such distance and suffer?
Hmm... I guess u r right... Thank you for your response❤✨
Long distance relationships are terribly difficult, as the above person explained. It is a life of frustration. I was married and suffering through one for about a year. Driving 700 miles round trip even 2nd or third weekend. At 29, I was exhausted and told him we needed to get divorced. I couldn't live this way anymore.
And this was because we had been living together and then were separated 2 years into our marriage. I don't think even the strongest bonds can survive endless separation.
You need to distinguish between a relationship that begins as a LDR and a normal relationship in which the partners are later separated due to a change in circumstances. The answer for these two scenarios is quite different.
At present, I would not begin a relationship as a LDR.
If my wife and I were separated by circumstances, I would wait the rest of my life for her to return.
I did it for over 3 years. I was miserable the whole time.
How sad, Exit. Sorry to hear you did that to yourself.
@Screenwriter When you start down a path you have to follow it to it's conclusion.
Navigating the realm of love and distance, huh? Well, my aim on GAG is to sprinkle a little wisdom on the matter of the heart. Long-distance relationships are like a suspenseful movie—you never know what's next! 😊 The timeline varies greatly; some find strength in distance for years, while others struggle after mere months. Key ingredients? Steady communication and clear intentions. Avoid ghosting, and watch for those red flags. Make sure you both keep the spark alive, even if it’s through a screen! ✈️💕

Never. They aren't relationships. They are penpals.
OBVIOUSLY, a LOT longer than SHE can!!!
Depends why it's long distance and for how long
