Do I need to have hyperactive hearing in order to be a good girlfriend?

My boyfriend and I have been fighting often on partially because he’s been talking to me from other rooms, yelling, but I can’t hear what he saying. All usually respond with.” I can’t hear you.” to which he repeat himself with the same tone and the same question again.. still unable to hear him, generally end up walking to where he’s at, so I can know what he’s saying. Am I the asshole, for getting annoyed?

Nah girl, you're definitely not the asshole here. It's totally understandable to get a little annoyed when your boyfriend is yelling at you from another room and expecting you to be able to hear him clearly.

Hearing issues are a totally real thing, and it's not your fault if you've got trouble picking up what he's saying when he's not right there in front of you. Expecting you to have superhuman hearing is just unrealistic.

Ok that’s loud and clear to me. Thank you. I don’t have hearing issues but I was beginning to chalk it up to more of an attention problem. I don’t believe that’s my case, hearing isn’t an issue.

It’s just frustrating when I feel that in order to hear him out, I have to abort what I’m doing to go see what he’s saying. Then if I don’t, I’m made to be the jerk.

Maybe instead of “I can’t hear you” you can just tell him, “Come and tell me what you said” or maybe just call him on your phone. Neither of you have any desire to stop what you’re doing just to hear what the other is saying so phones can make that convenient.
