Is the increase of more single men & women only going to make the gender divide worse given we have less opportunity to truly understand each other?

I have been single for about 5 years. Don’t regret breaking up with my ex. Lonely or not it was for the best.

But one thing about being in a traditional hetero relationship is it challenges you to understand the opposite gender better. While that doesn’t mean all women are the same. Getting to know one doesn’t mean I getting to know them all. But still when you are in a healthy committed relationship you got to make sacrifices to serve you partner better and vice versa. It forces you to better understand how the opposite gender thinks.

Also men and women lecturing each other (which is what feminism does to men) in non intimate scenarios does not truly help educate each other. It does the opposite. Reason being it’s often antagonistic because one side only cares about themselves.

I also don’t like being “friends” with women. I will never be “just friends” with a woman I feel attracted to (and she knows it). Friendly maybe but hang out friends absolutely hell no. I was one of those naive nice guys when I was younger and I was badly exploited for that. But I won’t tolerate that nowadays. I won’t get angry I will just say “best of luck” when a woman asks “can we just be friends”. Walk away and won’t ever contact her again.

But I don’t even like being friends with women who I’m not attracted to. I feel like 9 out 10 times they get more out of the friendship then I do. They tend to lean on men (subconsciously) for benefits a boyfriend/husband is supposed to provide (feeling protected in public, moving heavy objects, strong male logical advice, etc.).

But back to the main point. I see more and more women and men giving up on each other nowadays. They we “silo” with other people (typically the same gender) who think same the way we do. But is lack of interaction with the opposite gender only going to make it harder to get in a relationship with someone we do like down the road?
