True Love is something you give something without expecting anything in return.
And
.
I don't think I'm the one who gives and not be expecting anything in return
Example:
If I love someone I'm expecting to be loved despite what his feeling are.
This is a very good question. Love itself is an abstract concept, hence there can be many definitions of true love.
It can also be defined as encouraging, and empowering their partner to bring out their best and to go after their dreams, their goals and ambitions in their life even if it means compromising or sacrificing on spending quality time etc.
It can also be defined as a thinking which says that true love is never about getting the one they love and to have a relationship with them. Instead it is about just being happy seeing the one you love even if they are not with you. Just seeing the one you love happy itself makes you happy and that is true love.
Likewise there can be many definitions of true love.
As said, already, by andreas, I would question why the word "true" is needed at all. As the word "love" is already self-explanatory, whole, it's a personal sentiment felt, recognized and named.
After that comes a never-ending ramble thread featuring judgements, evaluations, songs, comparisons, poetry, morality, society, trends, markets. All those ingredients we love so much to add: So, is it shared love, do I love more, do they love more, and who I loved less and more, and is it fair, or enough, or not enough, using a scale, a moral grid and aaaaaaall those additional ingredients produced by minds caught in the act of thinking and analyzing.
It's fine, I like thinking too.
But I love simplicity, in this context.
You’re right, but true love between two people is where each one cares more about the happiness of the other person than their own and is happy if their beloved is happy
when you know the other person feels the same... no doubts... no questions...
and there is nothing impossible if this person is with you...
Ah, the sweet allure of true love! As a relationship coach who's seen it all, let's delve into this heart-stopping mystery. True love is that soul-igniting connection that makes your heart do cartwheels, your eyes twinkle, and your soul sigh with contentment. It's the kind of love where you embrace each other’s quirks, communicate openly, and tackle life’s rollercoaster as a team. It's not just about butterflies, it's about building a lifelong partnership. Feeling the tingles yet? 😉

I honestly don't know anymore.
True love is staying even when the good parts are taken away. If your partner was in a terrible car accident and was rendered quadriplegic and intellectually disabled, and it turns into a caretaker-patient relationship, no more sexual contact, just waiting on them hand and foot for the rest of their natural life, as they atrophy and wither and no longer look like the person you once knew,….
THAT’S true love.
For me it's the way my husband makes me feel safe and able to be myself there us no kidding he knows all my secrets even the hard ones he can read me pretty well and is always there no matter what
What do you mean like u have more questions lol
True love is a deep, unconditional bond built on trust, respect, and genuine care. It requires mutual understanding, emotional support, and shared values. True love, unlike infatuation, develops over time and can withstand challenges. It promotes self-development, honesty, and putting each other's happiness first while preserving individual identities and personal fulfillment.
The desire to be with someone for the rest of your lives, feeling immense emotional and mental distress about even the idea of doing something that would moderately upset them or damage the relationship trust or being without them, being willing to communicate and compromise on things to make the relationship work so long as it doesn’t venture into abusive territory or become one sided. There is a huge difference between true love and co-dependency.
''True love'' is a theoretical concept that is exploited in music industry and movie industry.
Thus, it's a kind of merchandise article.
It's sufficient when it's ''true''... ''Love'' is then a descriptive suffix.
Words look mixed up here, I think you're saying that "true" is a descriptive suffix?
@Maybe_Maybe_not /// In a century that re-specifies words and wordings I take my liberty to participate :)
What I mean - in some way - the term ''love'' is a romantic idea only, where ''true'' is the actual main detail: genuine, honest and 'clean'.
You genuinely care about the other person's well-being and happiness, often prioritizing their needs alongside your own. This is why some people never get it, as some people are just plain selfish.
I am not sure, I'm guessing it starts with respect where love is conditional and love is not enough. I think it is where respect, sexual attraction, and love can deepen for a lifetime. Add a few other things like appreciation, trust, forgiveness, etc. Maybe that's it?
Where you don't see any flaw of your partner, concentrate on her only, with unconditional acceptance, commitment, mutual respect, selfless love, intense attraction, passion and romance exists, deep emotional support and trust exists, where I prioritize her over myself.
It's like the wind. It exists in strength and substance yet it doesn't. It needs to be nurtured with warmth or it's fleeting.
A completely fictional creation of society.
Could be.
It sure is not as shown in movies. That I can agree.
When a gaL loves'er guy, as much as'e cares 4 her.
A connection or bond so strong that that makes them almost unseperable
True love makes both blind to each other and springs forth a love that is real and grows each other into one.
coming back to somebody who won't drive you away
It doesn't exist. Don't even bother
