Do you think it’s possible to love someone you’ve known a year more than someone you dated for 8?

I started dating someone on and off for the last year prior to that I was living with a girl I was dating for 8 lived together for 6 and I thought I loved her but what I feel for the new person is so much more intense I want to do everything I can for her I love making her happy I miss her five seconds after she leaves the long term relationship had been over for a year and I dated a couple times in between but didn’t work out for different reasons each time but this is different than anything I’ve ever experienced does that mean this might be my actual first love I cared for the others deeply but I like have never fallen so hard in my life

Every relationship feels amazing and intense at first. What you’ll find is that with your 8 year relationship, you got comfortable and over time things possibly got boring and the spark was lost. It happens in all relationships if both partners aren’t regularly working towards maintaining the spark. But when you leave a relationship like that and start a new one, everything feels incredible and you feel as if you’ve found “the one” as your last relationship didn’t feel this way. But over time you’ll get comfortable again and the spark will be lost if it’s not maintained, restarting the cycle.

Yes spending more years with someone doesn’t exactly mean they are the right one for you.
you can meet someone new and fall in love and feel an intense greater better feeling for them and they can treat you better as well.
it’s hapening to me currently.

Yes if the chemistry and connection between you both is amazing compared to the chemistry and connection you had with you ex , then yes it’s possible , I have dated girls’ that were way better than my ex was to me and I think to myself , if my ex treated me this way , she wouldn’t be my ex. But unfortunately she didn’t treat me that way. Meeting someone that has a lot in common with you and amazing chemistry and connection with you is like hitting the lottery

Yes definitely sometimes you just know. I’ve felt the same recently, thought my ex was the one, then met a new guy but our connection is off the charts and it’s so much more passionate and intense.
