You needed some years to get over your longterm ex. Do you think it’s possible to love someone new just as much?

If you’ve been in a longtime relationship and your ex left you, would you be able to love someone new just as much?

English isn’t my first language so I’m struggling a bit with my question.

You have humanitarians who suffer to save people they do not even know so loving somebody does not take a long time once trust is there. What takes time is honour and respect. It usually takes me at least a year to esteem somebody and view them in deep regard.
