Is it ever a good idea for couples (dating or married) to travel along with the parents?

Let’s say a committed couple decides to go vacation and the parents come along as well for more company and fun to a hot place like Mexico or Florida…

is it ever a good idea to travel with parents? Or is that a recipe for drama and conflict?

No you could have a good time if your in to that I would rather to be alone with the girl I'm with..
I mean you. Could I meet up for a couple days? But then split apart again.

For me, I would want it to be more magical and passionate and private. Together

Although we (husband, children & I) get along extremely well with both our sets of parents, it might possibly be appropriate for a very occasional trip, or perhaps an important one such as a wedding etc... But certainly not on a regular basis.

Last year we actually did a two week holiday/tour in our motorhome with my parents, which although a little cramped did work out rather well, especially with my father sharing some of the driving with my husband.

I think it just depends both on the couple as well as the parents. Sometimes it may work out fine and others it may be a disaster.

Even if I had a good relationship with the in-laws, I wouldn't want to go on holiday with them.

Ya I agree with you…in-laws can be tricky people - first they’re all nice to you then they can easily turn around and use stuff against you so gotta be careful with those peeps

It depends on the how well everyone gets along. It could lead to making everyone closer or it could backfire. If you do it I suggest you allow a lot of time to be apart from the parents.
