Should I give my boyfriend a celebratory gift?

He just passed his sports exam to become a state referee for a girls’ sports team. He got 75 percent and he finished it on the day, rather than within a week, so a week early. Should I give him a celebratory gift? I’ve never given him a gift before that wasn’t food. He likes animals. Would a dog print and/or a dog mug be good? Or just one? He does like art too, so I could give him a beautiful, arty tea cup that I love, but have limited space for?

Just keep it simple , cheap , yet symbolic , this is more important than any actual gift for certain.
