What is the right thing to do in a relationship when you’re not on the same page with your partner?

I asked my boyfriend about his future plans because we’re doing long distance at the moment, I am from the EU and he’s from the US. I told him that I’m looking into having a family and would love for us to build a life together. And respond, he said that he’s not ready for marriage and doesn’t plan marriage as of now or maybe ever until the moment is right. Mentioning financial stability to which I said people can build something together, including financial stability. I love him, but I cannot live in uncertainty. As he can’t even give me an estimate timeline.

We’re both 28 and have been together for eight months now.
I also visited him in the US and stayed for about 4 1/2 months.
He comes from a Muslim family, and I am worried about the influence o ha family.
We both love each each other. I’m just thinking if Love 🤍 is enough.
