(When I had one) we'd typically either spend time together (in person) 2-3 days a week or perhaps (when traveling) enjoy a couple of long phone calls to catch up and share highlights from our day.

Even a few instances after a breakup, since there was once a close connection there will be an occasional greeting and catching up, though with appropriate distance out of respect for one another and any current partners.
