For those of you in a relationship, how much time do you spend together with your partner usually?

I'm curious to hear other people's opinion on this because in my case, I'm unemployed and my husband works from home and I feel we really spend too much time in each other's company. Sometimes it feels nice and happy but other times it's just too much. We also face some issues in the relationship and I feel that being bored or too much together makes us have more arguments, but I'm not sure if it's the case.

I also heard of couples who spend a lot of time together and are very happy, so we may also just not match.

My wife and I haven't spent as much time together recently as we'd like. We've both been so busy with work, taking care of the kids, and trying to get settled into our house that our personal time has been incredibly limited. We're working on making some changes to our nightly routines though, so hopefully we'll be able to just sit and watch a movie and have a drink or two.

We lead our lives being the people we wanna and need to be for our careers , our families and our friends our passions , interests and Existential pursuits and we meet somewhere in the middle. I wouldn’t have it any other way and it works well for us. We would always make each other priority over anything should the need arise.

You can't argue. You have to both make a point of realizing it's due to you being in the same space. Repeat that to each other. Cut each other slack because of it. It builds respect and trust. Nobody has your back like the other does. The rest of the world won't. Home is your safe space.

I’m 26 and never had a boyfriend, my dream is to have a guy daily with me. 😞 it got to the point anywhere I go out, all girls are with a boy and baby glued next to her 24/7 , and I’m alone 24/7, no guy wants to be with me 24/7 and call me his girlfriend

Aaaah. Yes, that's happened a lot since COVID and has broken up more marrriages than anyone has been able to document.


Try to at least take a walk or run an errand on your own once daily or to take time in separate rooms so that you're not "on top of" one another and in each others' business all day long. It's nice to create some space so that you can have something to chat about later.

Right! It’s very rare that those scenarios work out. I know ONE husband-and-wife team who work together AMAZINGLY well, but that’s one of … perhaps thousands of couples I know. (Same goes for working with family members, by the way.)

My last relationship, we lived separately in different towns. So, it was more dynamic in the scheduling department, but we would generally share the night and early morning with eachother. Your situation sounds slightly tougher through... 24/7 in a cramped home. Perhaps its a good time to take up a new cardio routine?

Every night since we live together.
On Saturdays, we do outside things (date nights, errands, grocery shopping) or we’ll spend it with friends separately. On Sunday, we always see together.

In your case , that amount of time is far too much , few survive that , I couldn't do it , work on getting employment yourself.

Too much of anything is no good. Try giving each other space and if that doesn’t work, at least when you end the relationship you will know you did all you could.
